Dick Maskin and the rest of the Dart team are back at it with even more great SHP combos for both Ford and Chevy fans. With 427 cubic inches of small block power available for the Blue Oval and Bowtie faithful, Dart's SHP line is definitely moving to the next level. For your street strip, pro touring, or daily driver hot rod, Dart's SHP 427 Small Block Ford will perform.

Dart's SHP Line includes multiple options for both Chevrolet and Ford fans, and at Dart's website you can build your own SHP combo.

Dart has added a Windsor style 427 cubic inch short block assembly to the popular SHP (Special High Performance) line up. Like Dart’s other short blocks, this bottom end has been rigorously developed and tested to produce optimal power and durability in an affordable and customizable package. 

The assembly starts with a brand new Dart SHP 9.500’ deck Windsor style block. The SHP is cast from premium iron alloy and features 4-bolt main caps on the center three mains and 2-bolt on the front and rear, providing a strong bottom end and simplifying oil pan fitment. Dart’s priority main oiling system gives reliable lubrication to the critical main bearings at high rpm, and the valley is designed to accommodate OE style roller lifters. Cylinder bores are plate honed prior to assembly.

A forged steel crankshaft, forged 4340 H-beam rods with 3/8” cap screws and forged aluminum pistons with full floating pins make up the robust rotating assembly, which is internally balanced. Clevite bearings, Hastings rings
And other premium components are used. The SHP 427 comes standard with 26cc dished pistons which produce a nominal compression ratio of 9.9:1 with 58cc chambers, or 9.5:1 with 62cc heads and .045” gaskets.

Professionally engineered and assembled SHP short blocks jump start your engine build; you won’t have to worry about selecting the right components or whether you have the right tools to do the critical bottom end assembly. Just add your choice of cylinder heads, camshaft and accessories and you can easily complete your engine in a weekend.  Dart offers a variety of aluminum or cast iron cylinder heads and complete top end kits which include assembled heads, bolts, gaskets, valve covers, intake manifold and even spark plugs to complete your engine build.

That's a Nice Short Block . If I had one of them in My 1965 Mustang it would Rage on a Lot of Chevy's Ha-biggrin
