Holley's Throttle Position Sensor Kit for Electric Choke Carbs

Holley has rolled out a neat new kit that allows for an electric choke equipped Holley carb to be modified so it will accept a throttle position sensor, necessary to make many modern transmissions fully functional. This is a neat solution that should solve the problems of car builders when mating new and old technology together.

As more and more people are bolting modern engines and transmissions into old cars, kits like this one from Holley are sure to become more common. Using an old school two or three speed transmission (outside of an all out racing application) with a modern means you may be leaving some performance on the table. Being able to use a modern slush box that uses more and tighter ratios, advanced electronic controls, and causes less parasitic drivetrain power loss only makes sense.

Rather than us blather, here's the full release from Holley;

Running an electric choke Holley carburetor and having trouble figuring out how to get that new electronic overdrive transmission to work? Holley has a solution for you.

Holley is proud to introduce the new TPS kit for electric choke carburetors. The TPS kit is designed to be used on electric choke equipped Holley Carbs and is perfect for use with an electronic overdrive transmission such as a 4L60E or 4L80E and can also be used for data acquisition.

The Holley TPS kit for electric choke Carbs comes complete with all the parts needed for installation along with a detailed instruction manual.

Installation Notes
Fits Model 4160 and 4150 CARBS with electric choke

  • Supply the needed TPS signal to an electronic transmission while still retaining a carburetor

So, does this unit operate on 5 volts or 12 volts. Next as an aftermarket user what kind of gage might be used. It would be interesting comparing vacuum, boost to various road speeds and tach speeds. You Could add some kind of data logger like innovate motor sports has.
