New Project

Found a 1969 Chevy C10 long bed. Has a 350 with an automatic, supposedly runs but needs carb work. Its in Reno so a friend is going to look at it for me, if its what the add says he'll pick it up. It'll be a couple weeks before I can get up there to pick it up, but I'm excited. First thing I want to so is stop at a buddies house on the way home and shorten the frame. I was thinking of getting new bed sides but at $500+ a side that's not going to happen If I can figure out the dimensions of the stock bed ill section it. I'll get some pictures when I haul it home.

Cool. If you look for a episode of trucks when Stacy David was still the host. He converted a long bed to a short bed.
and if I remember correctly he took out 13 inches.

Got the truck, had to have a friend pick it up for me. Found it on Craigslist in Reno and ain't able to get up there. My buddy said it looks good and runs descent, might be a little Bando in one rear quarter but I think everything I own has a little bondo in it. I'll maybe go get it this weekend, been working a bunch this will be first weekend off in a month. I'll get some pic soon.

Got the truck! It runs rough, been sityin for a while and crabs all gummed up. That and it has a vacuum leak. The way some of the stiff is done a kid had to of owned it, haha. Edelbrock cab and I think its been over tightened, the threads to the intake are stripped so I'll try to retap them. I'll load some pics here in a few

got some pics, I cleaned the motor before the photos were taken, just trying to get it running and it was a greasy mess. Had a 3 wire alt. wired up wrong, I charged the battery so the truck would start. It would run for about 15 seconds and die, the battery would be completely dead.

No white stuff around here. Its been in the 70's all this week and some of last. I think ill cut the bed down first then do the frame, the frame will take less time.

Gonna try to get the bed done this weekend, if I can find some help getting it off. Bad part about living in a place where you don't know anyone

Rodder, I think the motor had a rattle can rebuild not long before I got it. A couple valve cover bolts are broke off so it leaks a bunch.

A drill and easy out should get them out. I hate leaky valve covers.

Got the bed apart yesterday, bolts were stripping so just tightened the crap out of them till they snapped. Gonna try to get everything cut and tacked up today before the wind starts in. Try to get some pics

Some pictures of the stuff I've done so far. Some gaps a little big, but managed to make it fit. Tried to different ways. Drilled spot welds out of front brace so I wouldn't have a weld on the front. The other I just cut the front off and welded it back on after taking a section out.
