One of my old favorites

wild.jpgYou guys know I love the  Altereds and gassers...Here's a short bio of a man who earned his nickname "Wild"

These "cars" (more like beasts) had a much smaller wheelbase than the other fuelers, and in some cases their massive motors had been modified to develop even more horsepower than a funny or rail. Witnessing a pass of these thunderbolts was so intense that often you could feel yer insides quivering from the vibration alone.

Among the legendary and infamous crew that had the considerable sack or defiance of fear to dare pilot these crates was an individual that even in his domestic life was a giant. That man was Willy Borsch, a former merchant seaman, brawler and unquestionably a gentleman not to be trifled with.
Because these machines developed so much torque at acceleration, they would often twist out of shape as they catapulted down the track, typically turning at a right angle, or even completely sideways. If the driver didn't use all his strength to counter-steer the motion of the ride, he'd be instant refuse into the rail.
Knowing this, Willy decided to take the casual approach, and could be seen using only ONE arm to steer, the other placed in plain view to the spectators resting on the outside cowling.
If there exists a visual metaphor that describes bad-ass driver bravado, then this would be at the top uv da list-willy.jpgwilly.jpg
