Invincible?

Invincible? Not hardly!

Always thought I was, but sadly found out that I'm not! Lol. Started having chest pains last week and being a normal guy just shrugged them off as indigestion..been super tired for the past month..even fell asleep eating dinner one night last week!  Saturday was awakened by serious chest pains..just wouldn't go away!..finally got talked into going to the hospital and yes had a heart attack!  Clogged arterie that required 2 stents..feeling 100% better..still in the hospital awaiting  a heart test to determine whether I may need 2 additional stents!  Hope not..the moral to this story is for all of you to start taking better care of yourselves! My goal is to stay away from the large amount of junk food I used to ingest and to stay away from McDonald's!  Lol

Hope you are alright. I need to stay away from that stuff too. Eating way to much of it lately.
also hoping you get good news next test, that you don't need to go back a second time.

Can happen to anyone, any time.....My daughter had a heart attack a couple of years ago....She was never overweight, ate well....but she did smoke. I emphasize....DID smoke....She quit that day and is even more health conscious now.

Take care of yourself CR......and everyone else too

We're all getting older. I try not to eat much processed food or soft drinks. My guts will revolt if I eat anything with high fructose corn syrup. An old friend a year older than me just tipped over a couple days ago. Wetting line one day and dead the next, 63. Glad you're still sucking air CR.

Death can happen very quick and unexpected. Back in 93 my dad's dad went for his yearly checkup.one morning And was as healthy as a horse. That night he dropped of a major heart attack.
So I guess the lesson is we should not take anything for granted. Every day is a gift! Enjoy it and use it wisely.

Lol...when it comes down to it, you won't have those same thoughts..trust me!  Not too sure how serious this time was for me, but I do know I cheated death once before. Fell off a home I was working on in the winter that was located in a resort area. That means no one was around! Broke 13 bones in over 40 places and punctured 3 holes in a lung. All my ribs on left side, right arm, both collar bones, jaw and cracked my skull.  Worse part was I laid outside in the snow for over 4 hours and I didn't tell anyone where I was going to work that day. I laid there from 1 o'clock to after 5.  When I came to, I was able to get up and inside and fortunately there was a phone inside (before cell phones).  Called my wife and told her to come get me, then passed out again before I could say where I was. Thankfully she was smart enough to figure it out. They told her in the 2nd hospital I was transferred to that I might not make it thru the night because my organs had started shutting down...Well they were wrong! I cherish each day I'm here now and hopefully you all will do the same!

I thank all of you for the thoughts and words .. just have to rest for a bit then back to it again!

Stress is the biggest killer of all I think. Also bitterness and unforgiveness are poison to the body. I don't trust doctors completely. They are bound to the AMA creed that medication and surgery are the only 2 viable treatments. I always check all the holistic options. 4 years ago I spent 2 weeks in the hospital with, among other things a seriously inflamed colon. They never did figure out what was causing it. I came home, got on the computer and in an hour discovered the high fructose corn syrup was the culprit. And sugar in geneal to a lesser degree.

Just remember, the medical profession makes it's money from people who are being treated, not people who are cured.

I couldn't  agree more! But in some cases they are correct with surgery. I also believe that we won't see cures for a lot of diseases and sicknesses because it will  literally put millions of dollars out the window for the big drug manufacturers.
