Starting a new project

And I'm going to be on tv. TV news guy came and filmed me and my "art" a couple weeks ago, will air during the 9 oclock news as some sort of people of interest thing. Well, I figured I should be working on something when he showed up so I started another 1/4 scale motorcycle sculpture. It's going to loosely be based on a 1920s Ace 4 cylinder racer that went 129 mph in 1923. This is what I have so far, 98 fins cut, shaped welded and then grind the welds mostly off so the next one fits, probably 40-50 hours into just the fins.

I've been working pretty steady on this project, probably have well over 200 hours in it by now. So yesterday I finished the front fork so I stuck on the wheels, tank and engine for a couple shots. I should have it finished in a week or two.
For some reason the photobucket images aren't loading

Trying to keep everything to scale is a real chore. I start with the wheels and try to scale everything to them. If you get a little off on one part, it affects other things as you go. Several little things are off, but I guess we call that artistic license, lol. I think the thing that bothers me most is the fork is way too chubby, should have been smaller tubing.

I also scaled the magneto way down from the original. It was cartoonishly huge, like something from a Farmall tractor. My contention is that it's a race bike and those were high performance modifications, lol. But overall I'm generally pleased with the way it's coming together.Probably nobody will ever see it who is familiar with the Red Wolverton bike anyway.
