alt wiring ?

Hey guys working on my truck here 88k1500. I did a dual battery set up.

Now on these trucks the wire comes off the alternator to a distribution block on the firewall. From there it goes to the battery. Now as for my second battery I did it Cummins style and I have the grounds from both battery's to the block. And the drivers side positive to the passenger side battery then to the starter.

The wire from my firewall goes to mypassenger side battery and that charges everything.

ButI am wondering if I should ad a charging wire to the drivers side battery as well?

What do you guys think?

Yeah I read something about that as well. Not sure what it would be there for.besides maybe to make sure that one battery stays charged up to ensure start up ?
