floor wrinkle

Looking at a 62 chevy II on craiglist price is right for a builder but after asking how floor pans look the guy said the one side had a little wrinkle in the floor board from prier accident. A new floor pan for the side is $70 but my concerns are what else is bent. If I put a new pan in will it fit and will a frame guy be able to do anything with it because it a uni body car. Anyone ever run into this? You know I don't care about originality and to make it a good daily driver is all I want, but if it is bent and can't be fixed then theres no use.

Would have to look at the wrinkle.......How did it happen, hit a rock or something?

If it wrinkled due to the frame being bent, I would pass

How long is the wrinkle? Longer one means a harder hit and you're correct in the unibody thought...Nothing worse than a car that won't track straight..of course it could be something minor also..tough choice Rick! Is it possible to take it to a body shop to be checked out? 62 Dueces are getting harder and harder to find....

As you know I built/restored one. Was fortunate, had a good base to work from. I wouldnt buy that car with out a frame shop, giving you its blessing,or fixing the issue

If I could see the car then it would be a different story but unfortunately its 4 hours away. The guys asking $1700 for it, if I could get it for around $1200-$1300 I would chance it. Now that I think it, it's probably not to good the guy did mention it has sat for ten years and is selling it as a parts or drag car.  http://chico.craigslist.org/cto/5168465066.html

That last line would make me a little nervous...Parts cars are usually just that! Shame it's so far because you just never know...it may be a good deal!

You could always put a TCI or Heits etc tube front clip. They come with mustang steering, disc brakes etc. Any way that what I did

that would be my plan eventually but my concern is if the firewall has been knocked out of wack. Then I would have to shim the front clip

Would you be able to see that much damage with the Firewall out of square?
