Been awhile.

So long my comp crashed and I lost all of my links including here. True to my threat I backed off on the hobby a bit,. Not completely but enough to stay in the back round. Sold off all the cars and attended only a few events as a walk in for a few years. Last byear the bug hit again. I picked up and built a 41 Willys PU 355 tunnel ram etc. still only attended two events w it and trophied at the first. , First motor was a 305 tri power motor but it was too "street roddy" for a Willys I thought so I put together this 355, HUGE difference in power , any way Hello again.

So far so good , reached the two year clear mark this spring, X. The Willys is gone to TN. Too small to carry the ol' shoe and the Gkids, Did well tho. I litterally kept everything except the rolling shell and wheels/tires. I then picked up this 83K mi. creampuff to do the cruise parade thing. First show pulled a second place in class. 1948 Mercury Deluxe Town Sedan. BONE stock low milage survivior w a 30 YO repaint.

Along with the Merc. I got two garages full of early ford parts and acccesories. 5K! Did'nt have the heart to haggle just paid his asking price. After the last show I now have $3500 in the Merc w a LOT left to dump. He was an old boy quitting the hobby to move to AZ.

I am now looking for something cheap to drop the Willys drivetrain into.

A little update- Still have the Merc. tho alseep for its long winter nap. We had snow already ;-( . I Picked up a V6 81 Firebird Espirit - and a TA parts car to put the Willys motor in. Have not decided if its getting the 355 or the 305 HO. The 305 actually came out of a Firebird, tho probably a third gen.. Can't remember, so I have to run the #'s again. But it is plenty strong for this kind of car. (daily D), mild cam etc as desribed above except no tri power. These never came a w a Poncho motor worth building (except possibly the turbo model (which the parts car is, but no drive train or chassis stuff left in/on it) so I'll stick w the 305. Looking for a 77-8 front nose or a complete 74-76 front clip as I HATE the 79-81 grilles. but thats just me. I MAY install the TA's T tops but I am undecided about that. Should keep me busy this winter. I already installed the TA's front clip + turbo hood ( He thought that crappy job of a Chev cowl induction scooped stock hood was worth a ton of money.)+ I am opening up the Turbo indicator Light portion of the hood for a fresh air intake. Ohh, the FB + Merc are now FREE cars. After selling off most of the early Ford stuff and trading some more for the FBird.+ parts car. Still have a fair amount left.
