starter whoas

Hey guys.

I am having starter troubles. I now getChevy small starters. I think they are listed for 96 s10.

NowI read that the newer starters use a 10mm shank and 3/8 treads as opposed to the 3/8 shank and 3/8 treads like the old ones. Is that true? If so will it be a problem??

Thanks

I'm feeling your pain with the Chevy starters...Used to snap the cones off or else the starters would start grinding, usually when someone walked up to look at the car!...lol switched to a mini and it started eating flywheel teeth! Took it to a guy and he drilled a 3rd hole in between the existing bolts..NEVER had another minutes trouble...don't know if this will help.

well i guess that chevy started useing 10 mm shanks at some point.
i always thought they where 3/8 but i guess if you get the bolts for the mini starter that they dont walk . chevy performance has them.
they are under 2$ at summit racing (my new favorite place ) lol
