duel quad Tunnel Ram vs single plane 4bl


I have a 528" Chrysler 12.6-1 alum edde heads comp cams 287/295 555lift hooked to a proglide trans brake with 3500-4000 stall 9" rear 4.56 gears 16.5x 32 slicks 3/4 tube chassised Fox body Mustang approx. race weight of 2500lb

 

which would you run everything I'm reading says for Drag only In a light car were the rpms are up on launch that the Tunnel ram is the ultimate set up for drag racing some dyno comparisons I have seen show anywhere from 30hp-66hp and 30 to 70 Tq gain over a single plane.

 

#1 TM7 2" spacer 1090 cfm Kingdemon

#2 weiand high ram with 2 770cfm holley tunnel ram carbs

Great combo! I remember reading a Hot Rod Magazine article about an intake manifold power test. The Tunnel ram won out over all the others for making power.

I say go with combo 2 it will be harder to dial in but ones you got it it should pull great all the way up top.

The tunnel ram has the cool factor going for it. If I could lower times with it I would go with Ram the only thing I'm thinking is it will take a little more time to get dialed in as far as tuning go's. If its rich it'll have a higher 60' time but that's what TNT's are for, also if you have both set ups you can always go back.

I had a Tunnel Ram with 2- 450 Holleys on the 37 Chevy...It pulled like a bear thru 2nd and 3rd gear!!!! You learn by trial and error how to start off..
