that's the same problem I have some times, just need a hand for a couple minutes but no one around. Some times I can get the wife and daughter to help but it's usually a last resortno

Well after some looking I found the spring I had put on last fall was too stiff. And made the truck sit 1 inch taller on that side. So I removed it again. And now waiting for a spring from the same model truck. I had taken one from a 99 to 06 same length then the 88 to 98 but not same rate.

Don't ya just love it when they switch part sizes from one year to another? Had a Dodge van years ago and had a flat on the front...Couldn't get the rim off the hub no matter what we did..Finally got the 10 pound persuader out and beat the damn thing off the hub...destroyed the rim...Oh well I'll just run down to the junk yard and get another rim....NOOOOOO... The year I had was the only year that had that particular bolt pattern...Had one heck of a time locating another rim and of course had to pay out the wazoo for it!...I love engineers! biggrin

Well installed a spring from the same generation truck.and I got it closer. There's a ½ inch difference between sides. But I think that is good for me. As the ground may not be level and all.

well changing the main spring got me down 1/2 inch like i had said. but was still a 1/2 off but then i got to looking at the spring pack on the other side and saw a questionable leaf. so i took it apart. and swaped out a good leaf and behold it whent up 1/2 inch !!!
so right now i am sitting at 12 inches between the top of the tire and bottom of the fender in the back. but 11 inches in the front.

now do you guys think i should leave it raked like that of raise the front another inch ??

Well I took the carb off today. As it was spuing gas from the overflow. I hated opening up a new carb but had too.
Man did that water and bad gas do a number on that carb. But I cleaned all the crud and everything seams to move find.will find out tonight if it cured it.

Well the carb works. No more leaking. Now just have to top off the trans and get the truck moving.

Glad it's coming together! I know sometimes it gets frustrating, but it's worth the aggravation!...

Little update.truck is in 1 piece. Got a rear bumper made out of a 7 inch C Chanel. And I have enough to start the front one. Got alot of the wiring buttoned up. Everything seemed to be working how it's supposed to.
Just needs tires and paint. And a couple of little things.
