Left over Parts 5.7 350 Max H.P Build .

I did some work on this 350 today . When I was younger I would have had it Built and Running in a Day Ha-Ha . I replaced the stock oil Pump with a good used Melling HV Oil Pump and a new hardened Pump Shaft . These one Piece Seal Blocks really are nice the way the one Piece Pan Gasket Lays down . I still brush on some shellac on the front and back Lip . You can see that GM did also use a bit of sealant Like that . Also had to install the Fuel Pump Push rod and Pump mounting Plate . I rough-up the back side of Chrome so it will seal better . Then Bolted on My Flex Plate from off My 89 Chevy Truck . Then bolted it on to My Test stand and started to hang the Test Run Parts- Coolant and Fuel and Ign systems .

Here is the stock Oil Pump out of this 100K+ Engine . It looked good inside and out but I had a good used H.V Pump so I replaced it .

Heck I almost didn't paint that Tin I had to wash up . I am thinking this will be a good spare Engine for when I pull out an Engine from My Car or Truck .

Purple paint adds 10hp, might want to rethink painting

I have a Can of Paint for My 327 that I have not seen on any other SB's before . I have to mask it and spray it if we get another warm Sunny Day . I Like the Cast Iron to warm up a bit before I paint am .

I Picked up these Plug Wires today from auto Zone #4060 . I was going to use some wire that came off My Truck when it had the TBI set up . But opted to go with this Cheap new set . They are not High End Wires . But from what I have found to be the Best Plug Wires $20.99 can buy . Also picked up some Wire Loom holders and a Breather 3/4" that will fit the smaller hole in the GM Valve Covers . I would have Liked a no name type . But I have no Problem with MR-Gasket stuff Ha-biggrin

Yeah got that ugly but Fast Look going for it . I didn't paint it so when I Video it Folks won't say old Tango is running a Full Built SB and passing it off as a Budget Build Ha-Ha No this is a Dirty and Cheap Build and I might drop it in My Monte Carlo while I am Building a Blower Engine

I was Tired but went out to the Garage to work on the 350 . Just had to hang all the Run Parts on it . And add the Oil and Break in Lube top off the Radiator and drop the Fuel Hose in a Gas Can . It started right up no Problems . I ran it for 20 Minuets at around 2000-2200 . For the Most part it ran 180-205 it got the Hottest after shutting it down then restarting it to do the Video 217 but went back down to 190 and stay there . It ran well but has a strange sound to it for a SB Chevy ? Kinda sounds Like a Mopar Ha-biggrin All the Jack offs that Live around here where at Full Volume yelling and had their Rap Music cranked so I left it uncorked .

Yeah when you Crank up the Volume about 3/4s of the Way that's how it sounded in Real Time Ha-biggrin It Idles Like a Stock Engine for the Most part and did Not seem to drink down a Lot of Gas ? Might Be a Good Engine for a modern day Hot Rod Build .

Thanks camaro fever68 . With the Knowledge you have and the Love you show for SB Chevy's coming from you that means a Lot to Me . I tried to do this build as cheap as I could . There are many things that were done to this Engine that basically hurt it's final Power outcome . But it has surprised me in how tame it sounds and Idles . And it did not use a Lot of Gas on that 2000 RPM 20 Minuet Break in Run . When I was all done running it that Night . I pull the Fuel Line out My Gas Can and Let it run out the Carb Bowl . It ran as Long as My 305 Did with that same Carb Maybe even Longer . Like I said Lots of Mix Matched Parts but they were all installed and adjusted Correctly . That has a Lot to do with how they really turn out . Now My 327 Got all the good stuff . For Me that was a Costly Build
