Demon Carburetion to be revived

Now comes word that Demon Carburetion, and possibly other aspects of BG Fuel Systems, is to be revived, with production possibly resuming as soon as the fourth quarter of this year. You may have already heard that the driving force behind this resurrection is actually another well-known maker of performance carburetors, but the folks from Bowling Green will neither confirm nor deny what may prove to be one of the performance aftermarket industry’s worst kept secrets this summer.

Our sources tell us that the new owners feel that the specifics of the new parent organization are immaterial, because it is their intention to restore the brand to its status as a stand-alone product line, produced by a company that is managed independently. From what we’re told, as this is written, equipment is being relocated to a new facility and production procedures and techniques are being reviewed in anticipation of getting new units into stock at the desired level of manufacturing quality.

Although the news of Demon’s revival has thus far been a bit cryptic, it would seem to be a positive outcome for the aftermarket; in particular, this should be welcome news to current Demon users as well as former distributors of the products, all of whom seemed to be left holding the fruit of what was a potentially obsolete product line, in that service parts would have been limited to whatever was left on the shelf. We’re told that the new Demon line will pick up right where the former company left off, and we’re hearing that the new owners are already beginning to reach out to the previous dealer network. We expect the details of this re-launch will be coming fairly soon .
