318 needs more power

I own a 1975 dodge pickup 2wd . it has the original 5.2 318 has a leaking pan . so i was thinking about pulling it to replace the pan and when im at it do the timing chain as well . I really would like some added power has a small two on it now . How much of an increase in power would going to a quad give me ?

A street Aluminum Dual Plane intake with a Small 600 Vacuum Secondary Carb . Should yield around another 25 H.P and with a Better ign system and Headers / Dual Exhaust even more power with about the same MPG .

I would say the same grind that I run in My 305 Chevy Work Truck . It pulls good sounds good starts well in all weather and MPG's well can't ask for more then that . And if your stock valve springs are in good condition you can run them . I had a 1985 Dodge Ram Van it had the 5.2L 318 904 trans . It was a strong running truck had more Power then a stock Chevy van with a 305 .

I like the build up you posted tango! I think i will do the same thing as they had done in the beginning. New rings and bearings call it good well a new timing chain never hurt anything either smile

Like I said above I owned a 1985 Dodge Van with a 5.2 318 2bbl . It had a Lot of Power and was great on Gas . I would say it had more power then a 305 Chevy stock for stock . I only got rid of it because I got My Chevy Pick-up and did not need or want two trucks in My Driveway . That 318 had a ton of Miles on it and ran fine . biggrin It did Let Me Down one Time in a Heavy Rain storm it would not start . And the Time I blew out the 904 Trans Ha-biggrin
