Welcome to Hot Rod House gyro9898

You might want to see what a collector would pay for that Engine . Then you could Build a Nice 5.0 Stroker Engine . Them Boss 302's Had Real Big Port Heads Like Cleveland Engines . I would say if you could Stroke it out to the Largest Cubic Inches it could make Lots of H.P . Rebuilt In Stock Trim with Today's Better Machining and Parts with a few Tweaks ? I should go about 400-420 H.P . Stock they were conservatively rated at only 290 H.P .

i have the block and heads at the machine shop being hot tank cleaned . the block looks good for a stock rebuild pistons and bore in specs . i will buy a new intake and cam kit and looks like my headers wont work . heads are good for basic clean up valve job and seals . like to reach 400 hp with the modern speed parts . going with a t5 4.10 gear

you could just build a modern day boss by adding cleveland heads to a 302 and putting the right intake on it. if you did not want to use the old motor

I have the boss 302 69 block and heads with minimal wear getting assembled with the heads i will take it from there . headers for my fox body are a problem . i bought a set of used 351c headers off a ford forum and a bellhousing. the seller said they will fit . i have to pick out the cam going with a mechanical lifter cam and high intake have a fiberglass cowl hood .

If you have the stock aluminum Boss 302 intake better to use it . I really don't think many after Market brands were made . That's a High Dollar Engine now your already into rebuilding it so no point of selling it now . I think 351C Headers for a 1979-93 Fox Body Mustang will work .

That Factory intake is good has the Big azzs Ports to match up to them Heads . I knew a Doctor that had a 1970 Boss 302 Mustang Top Loader 4-Speed and 3.91 9" Diff . I Helped him put that car back together it was in Boxes when He Bought it back then for $1800 I thought that was to Much money back then . It was rust Free but needed a Paint Job . We put it all back together and It was a Faster car then I thought it would be . No DZ-302 but much better then any 289-351W was then .
