79 GP build

My girlfriends mom gave me a 79 GP that was parked behind her house for 7 years . It currently has a 3.8 6 bangerĀ  200 metric tranny small 10v rear . I want to drop my 72 350 from my bird in it . And do some changes to it first it's stone stock . What all do i need to do to make it bolt up ? I dont want headers and want to go with a 4 barrel .

Some 1979 G.P's had 301 Pontiac's in them . I would hunt down the Mounts for one of them . That 350 even with an Aluminum Intake will still out weigh that V6 . So I do think you will have to get new Front Coil Springs . I would go with 1978-80 Cutlass V8 with A/C H.D for the replacements . That Metric Trans won't Live Long it's Best to Look for a TH 350 Short Tail . I would also Look for an HEI to add onto that 350 You have Enough Firewall Clearance . Exhaust Manifolds and Pipes could be tricky . I would use the Early to mid 70's Manifolds . And I think 1970-74 Firebird Head pipes would fit or could be tweaked a bit to Fit . But you will have to notch out your Trans Crossmember or buy a High Dollar aftermarket Dual Exhaust Type . Also your V6 Radiator is not up for the task . I used a 1977 Trans Am 400 Radiator in My Monte Carlo . That same type should also work well for you . You will need all the Bracketree for the Front of that Pontiac Engine as well .

A Guess would be a 2.56 Gear maybe 2.73 if your Lucky . Best Way to Really know is to pull the Cover . The Gears are Marked . Sure a 3.23-3.42 would be Nice . But You could Build around a 2.73 with that 350 under the Hood .
