74 302 Questions


I have some questions about this 302 ford engine i bought for $150 . its from a truck was removed a long time ago under 100ths on it . what can i do to rise the horsepower with out changing the heads . and are there any parts that have to be changed from it sitting ? i may have to use it in my 63 ford falcon .

That's a Low Compression 302 . The stock exhaust Ports are restrictive . But best you can do with out pulling the heads is a Basic camshaft swap to a Street Torque cam with a Dual Plane intake with 600 CFM Carb and Small Tube headers . If you match the parts right it might squeak out 300 H.P and it will run on 87 Octane Fuel with zero problems .

I sold it and made a few dollars going back with the 350 chevy swap .
