ok i have this crack in the paing on the roof of my car....im sure there is a reason and at this point i really dont want to know what it is i just want to seal up the crack...upto this point it hasnt mattered cause i live in the desert so no humidity or rain or snow so its not been an issue now im moving to the midwest where all these things are going to be issues so i would llike to fix it before i leave if its possible.....also i came off a drive way wrong and chipped of some of my bumper paint and just want to rattle can it for now as to keep it from worsening so im wondering 2 things

1. how do i seal the crack

2.how do you know what the right color is without buying every white cause its never the same as the can cap

What I am thinking is that your Sun Roof is not a Factory installed one . And when the Hole was cut it might have weakened a section in the roof . I would install a Small metal Plate under that crack . And drill three holes one at the end of that crack to stop it . And one on each side of it and Plug weld them with a small 110 Volt Wire Feed Welder . You can Tape around that area that you Plug weld so you won't damage the rest of the Roof paint . Do a Bit of grinding to the three welds Primer and Spray Paint that spot with touch up paint . White is not so hard to match . I have done quit a bit of Touch up with rattle can's over the years . After doing the Touch up and it drys . You can Lightly wet sand it with some 600 Grit Paper and then spray over that with some Spray Can Clear Coat . Then it will Look shinny and stay that way not turn Caulky in a Few months .

I would drill three 1/4" Holes Like this and tack weld them . Then Grind them Down use a Small amount of Body Filler and Prime and Paint .

yes when i get where im going and its warm i will look into these kinds of solutions and thank you....but im pretty sure its just a surface crack in the paint not the metal.....so i just need to fill it really to keep the element out for a few months.....and also it is factory installed one ot the cool thing about my car actually its one of very few sunroof cars most were targa top but i dont believe that solid roof was an option at all....but you never see the sun roof cars.....the other rarity is that it has the white package and factory had white wheels and only came and was the only one offered with the blue interior in my year(white package) so its really a rare supra...doesnt make it worth anything just cool to know i guess...i bet there are only a few left around with my options....pretty cool

Once you sand down that spot you will have a better Idea about that Crack . If it's just a Paint and Primer crack you should be ok with a bit of filler and a Spot touch up . Yes that is a nice ride . I Like to see Supra's race with there rear wheel drive they Launch real good .
