Another cruise. Hope y'all aren't getting tired of this stuff.
We went to a large window mfg plant today. They make the best windows in the business. All their parts are made in the U.S.A. They are a very down to earth old school plant where people matter. The owner of the company guided the tour. Out in the the plant he got his hands dirty showing us stuff. Even helped one of his workers lift a window off a rack to show how it's made. Knows all the employees by name.

Anyway it was 92 deg and very humid. I heard the heat index was 100. Highest of the year. So a very hot drive...made comfortable by Vintage Air. The Willys purred along very nice with the temp riding on 205-210. We had to detour as a section of highway was closed. It's been a while since I've gone cruising and things have changed a little. 35 cars and a great group. We got up to 70 + on some roads and freeway. I think we were late due to construction. I was next to last in the convoy so constantly going to beat hell to catch up then slowing down. The Willys took it all in and topped out at 14 mpg...best I've done all year. 200 miles.

Monday evening I took it for a short shake down trip just to make sure everything was good to go. The shop where I store my trailer has a nice piece of concrete about 100 yds long. It just a parking lot with no vehicles so I use it for very short launches. It's been two years since I really got after it. Man I tell, you I've forgotten how hard the car hooks up. It's almost a dead hook with just a small bark from the tires. The 4 link is set up with 135% rise. The whole car just jumps up and forward. It's interesting that just normal taking off from stop lights you don't see the car lift like this. It just moves out. The trade off however is a bit noisy rear suspension and excessively stiff rear anti roll bar.

Anyway nobody had car trouble considering how hot it was and we had a good cruise.
