That 327's going into My Monte Carlo once I break it in on My Test stand . The 355 in My Monte Carlo is going to get a Different camshaft and set of Heads . But First I will give it some Street Time Before I yank it out . To Me it's to Much Engine for as Much as I want to Drive it . As For an S-10 Build ? The More I Look at them Mini Trucks the More I want to Drop a SB Chevy into a Dodge Dakota instead . I feel the Need coming along to Build some stuff this Year Ha-biggrin The #461 Heads may go on top My 5.7 that I pulled out of My Pick up confused.gif Maybe .

I started to set-up them #461 Heads . They Look good all the seats and Guides are real Nice . Just Like the Guy Said they had Real Low Miles after being rebuilt . On one cylinder the Face of the Valves were nicked up just a bit so I ordered 2 New S/S Manley Valves .

looks dang good tango and bout ready to bolt together. i like them 327's.proly my favorite engine of all time. i cant tell you how many times i was handed my azz by em back in the early days.them high windin little suckers are bad to the bone.for a street rod they are still hard to beat.i cant think of a better build for that block.im more excited about this one than any in a while.id rather see this than a blown big block build but im partial to them 327's in a big way.my favorite street car was a 40 ford coupe with a 327. that boy out ran all comers. yep, even them big block street rods. i never seen him loose.he did get beat at the track once but never on the street that i knew of.but, that was 1968, hahaha !!

I had a 327 one Time in a 1969 GTO with a TH-350 W-30 Stall Speed about 2400 Stall and the Factory 355 Posi . Sure it didn't do the Bottom End Leap Like the Pontiac 400 Did . But 20 MPH on up it raged . I use to run it around town with no Hood and Open Header's Yeah . I even Raced it on the Street that way a Few Times . It would come off the Line not bad . It had a Q-Jet that was Kinda weathered . I know it would E.T well because I ran a Built Factory early 70's Duster 340 and them Joker have to be in the top 3 of stupid Fast SB Car's . It was heads up all out and I had him maybe by a car and that was through all the gears every bit of a 1/4 Mile . It was a week day if a Cop would have seen us ? Man I would have been Lock up and My Dad was Tired then of all My Racing . He would have told then to throw away the Key . Here is a Pic of that Billy Goat I think in that Photo it had a 350 out My Brothers 1970 Monte Carlo . Now that another Story I will have to tell you another Time Ha-Ha . That Goat had a Lot of Engines and Transmissions in it That 327 was doing Fine Till one Night My shift cable got hung up and stuck in Low . I remember Looking Down at the Tach and it was at 7200 no It had a stock Bottom End I oil the Street with it .

I had a 1970 Monte Carlo that had a Factory 400 SB Chevy TH-350 3.23 Pontiac Posi Rear End . It just started to knock slightly so I pull that Engine to save it . Well I needed another SB Like right then . No on Line stuff then just the papers . I could not score a 350 Found Lot's of 305's ? Best thing I could find was a 1967 SJ 327 that was Clean carb to pan Like it was just built . The Guy pulled it right out of His early Camaro that he just Bought because it was not stock . From what he said it came out a Roundy - Round car . I just dropped it in as is never removed any Tin Covers . It did not sound to wild to Me . But just Like the GTO's 327 it was real strong 20 MPH on up . I have to say that Engine was one of the Best Top End Power car's I had . I was running Late for work one day . I started then at 6.00 A.M so the Roads were fairly empty . I stood on it Looked down and the Speedo was down past 120 MPH stuck on Low 1 and it was still pulling . And I ran a 1969 Camaro with a 396's on the street and Beat him pretty good .

Thank's geezer I would be on that Build right now if it wasn't raining . I do My best never to work on an Engine in the rain unless I have to say Like at work . I do think I have most everything to Finish it . Want to break it in right then wing it a few Times maybe uncork it ? I am thinking this Engine will find a Home in the Monte Carlo . But it too has some squeeze to it . But a bit Less then My 355 does .

Geezer I was downstairs doing some Laundry My Wife is out of Town . So I had to walk over to the Bench and work on something . I cleaned up this Timing Cover . It's a thick one I paid $5.00 for it . You can see it with some other parts that I bought above . Well it cleaned up good and I knocked in a New front seal .
